Pels brings a rare combination of local knowledge, financial expertise, and market leadership to the Litchfield County real estate community.  A lifelong Connecticut resident, he is passionate about helping buyers and sellers discover not just a home, but a lifestyle rooted in the character, beauty, and culture of the region.

As Managing Broker of William Raveis Lifestyles Realty, Pels oversees a dynamic team of 25 agents and four assistants while continuing to personally represent clients across some of the area’s most sought-after markets. Consistently ranked among the top three agents in Litchfield County, he specializes in luxury estates, land, and lakeside properties throughout Washington, Warren, Kent, Litchfield, Sharon, Sherman, Middlebury, Cornwall, and Goshen.  He is also licensed in NY State and has some impressive sales in the Hudson Valley. 

Prior to real estate, Pels spent more than 24 years in financial services with Citigroup, Salomon Smith Barney, and acted as the registered broker/dealer at a boutique financial firm.  His background in finance gives clients a sophisticated understanding of today’s complex real estate market, from valuation and investment analysis to negotiations and long-term strategy.  He is also deeply knowledgeable in real estate law, macro and micro market trends, and transaction management, providing unparalleled guidance at every level of the buying and selling process.

Pels’ lifelong exposure to architecture and design, combined with his personal experience renovating five homes in the area, allows him to help his clients envision a property’s full potential.  Whether advising on renovations, evaluating land opportunities, or identifying hidden value, he brings both creativity and practical insight to every transaction.

Deeply invested in the local community, Pels has served for eight years on the board of the Judy Black Memorial Park & Gardens, helping support and shape the cultural fabric of Litchfield County.  He has also spent many years coaching youth soccer, hockey, and lacrosse, and enjoys helping both full-time and weekend residents connect with the many recreational and community opportunities the area has to offer. He serves as the real estate advisor to the Washington Club and to the Frederick Gunn School. 

Outside of real estate, Pels enjoys art and wine collecting, tennis, hockey and golf.  He is the proud father of twin boys.  Along with Stacey, his wife of 32 years, he  loves spending time at the center of a large extended family, often hosting gatherings that reflect his passion for community, hospitality, and the Litchfield County lifestyle.
