Bios of the instructors:
Matthew G. Abel, M.D., joined Candlewood Valley Pediatrics in 2001. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is on staff at New Milford Hospital and at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
James W. Cooper is Administrative Director, Emergency Management, at Western Connecticut Health Network. He has been an EMS provider and educator for more than 40 years.
Jose Mendez, M.D., is a specialist in pulmonary and sleep medicine. His credentials include a residency program at Yale University and a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education. (Note: The parents among us consider sleep problems in children and adolescents to be a family emergency!)
Patricia Grinnell, DVM ("Dr. Trish"), a graduate of the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine, is a partner in Washington's Aspetuck Animal Hospital. Her talk will focus on preventing and managing emergencies that may affect the animal members of our families.
